The chemical industry has witnessed an unprecedented growth and changes during last five decades. It is no longer the push for ‘big and bigger’ scales of production or mere economies of producing the lower cost / lower priced product. The concerns today have shifted to environment and “Responsible Care”, energy and scarcity of natural resources and fortuitously aided by solutions coming from technology and innovations.

Automation plays an important role in achieving plant productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and ensures safety. Therefore all the operating engineers, production managers are encouraged to apply and use feasible and appropriate strategies of “Automation”, which encompasses the operation of equipment and packages and the whole plant collectively.
