National workshop on Operation & Maintenance of Boilers

National Productivity Council (NPC) recently organized a National workshop on “Technological Developments in Efficient Operation & Maintenance of Boilers” at Auto Cluster Development & Research Institute, Chinchwad, Pune

This workshop was sponsored by Central Boilers Board (Under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GOI and it was conducted in active cooperation with Directorate of Steam Boilers, Government of Maharashtra.

The workshop coverage included important topics such as : Technological trends in power boilers – Super Critical boilers and CFBC boilers, Developments in industrial boilers, waste heat recovery & bio-mass boilers, Best practices in the O&M of utility and industrial boilers, Safety regulations, maintenance practices and residual life enhancements

Energy efficiency improvements and carbon emission reductions and Automation & Controls.

The workshop was designed for users of industrial and utility (power) boilers, manufacturers, officials from the boiler directorates and other professionals connected with the industry.

Two papers were presented by Forbes Marshall in this workshop, namely (1) Boiler efficiency Improvements by Bipin Chitkara, and (2) On-line steam & water analysis (SWAS) by Nitin Kirloskar

It was a very well organized event & response from various strata of industry was overwhelming.
