Efficient energy initiatives offsetting tyre market losses

Though the solid tyre market was suffering losses upto 50 per cent mainly due to energy costs, the country’s rubber industry tackled it through efficient energy initiatives, said Executive Director, Global Rubber Industries Ltd. Ananda Caldera.
Speaking at the 22nd anniversary of Forbes Marshall last Friday in Colombo, he said cost leadership and competiveness depends on the lower cost of specific energy.
He said that to compete with the global market, it is of great importance to cut energy cost. “We had proved it to some extent. We would continue with it, he added.
Coming back to the host, Forbes Marshall Lanka is a subsidiary of group holding company Forbes Marshall Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of steam engineering and control instrumentation products and solutions.
