Boiling

Boiling is a process in manufacturing various food and beverage products, such as blanching fruit and vegetables and boiling wort for beer. Achieving and maintaining a stable temperature and the desired temperature gradient is critical for these processes. Plants often use higher steam pressure than necessary to address temperature fluctuations and achieve the desired gradient. Inconsistencies in temperature can also arise from condensate build up in the heat exchanger, which happens when the float trap fails to fully evacuate condensate while the heat exchanger is under stall. Using excessive steam pressure and bypassing the steam trap to evacuate condensate results in higher energy consumption.
