Forbes Marshall celebrated Thermodynamics Day 2024 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), marked by the prestigious Forbes Marshall Outstanding Project Awards. The awards, running for over 30 years, recognises innovative academic projects that advance the fields of energy and sustainability. This year, projects students from UKM, showcased groundbreaking work such as portable in-situ detection systems for heavy metal contaminants and single-step production of graphene powder from waste palm kernel feedstock.

Our distinguished guests included Prof. Ir. Dr. MOHD SYUHAIMI AB. RAHMAN (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment) and Mr. MOHD KHAIRI BIN YUSOFF (Facility and Utility Manager, Sustainability Manager, Dutch Lady Milk Industries), alongside Mr. Tony Chacko (Regional Manager, Forbes Marshall) and Dr. Yeit Haan Teow (Associate Professor, UKM). Congratulations to all participants and winners! We look forward to continued collaboration between industry and academia.

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia hosted the Forbes Marshall Outstanding Project Awards on the occasion of Thermodynamics Day 2024.  From advancements in biodiesel yield using the TAGUCHI method to artificial neural networks, the projects demonstrated exceptional innovation.

The ceremony was graced by Dr. Mat Uzir Wahit (Deputy Dean, Research & Development Department, Faculty of Chemical & Energy Engineering) and Mr. AIROL IKMAR LIMIN (Operations Director, Kerry), along with Mr. Mohd Faizul Ibrahim (Product Manager, Forbes Marshall) and Dr. Hasrinah Hasbullah (Director, Department of Energy Engineering, Faculty of Chemical & Energy Engineering). We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winners and are excited for future collaborations.

The Forbes Marshall Outstanding Project Awards was conducted at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on the occasion of Thermodynamics Day 2024 . This long-standing competition, initiated over 30 years ago, highlights the dedication and creativity of students tackling critical issues in energy and sustainability. UTeM saw remarkable projects, including innovative solutions like portable in-situ detection systems for heavy metal contaminants.
