Forbes Marshall ranked No. 11 in the top 25 “Best Workplaces” in India for the year 2011

Forbes Marshall has been ranked No. 11 in the top 25 “Best Workplaces” in India for the year 2011 based on a survey conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute in association with Economic Times. The Institute is a pioneer in studying and recognizing great places to work across the globe. The study conducted annually, is in its eighth year and has a presence in across 40 countries around the globe covering over 1 million employees. It is one of the oldest, most comprehensive and respected workplace study in the world.

Forbes Marshall, the only Pune based company to make it to the top 50 list for the country, was awarded the 11th Position among 471 Companies which participated in the survey across all sections in the Industry. The award ceremony was held in Mumbai on 23/6/11.

They were also recognised as,

2nd best company in the Manufacturing & Production Industry 2nd best company in employee participation in CSR Activities. Renuka Ankonikar from HR is selected as one of the top ten project champions amongst the 471 company’s who competed.
This is the third time Forbes Marshall is ranked among India’s top 25 “Best Workplaces”. They were also listed among the top 25 in 2005 and 2008.

The list of Best Work Places is primarily based on the rigorous Great Place to Work Study which follows a unique employee centric methodology. Extensive employee surveys are conducted in which the opinions of employees working at participating organizations are captured. The survey is based on a random sampling of the employees. They are asked to rate their Organization on various parameters like credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. The survey aims to identify and recognize companies that provide a good and healthy work environment and set exemplary professional benchmarks for others. Two thirds weightage is given to employee feedback and the balance one third to the information submitted by the Company against a structured questionnaire provided by the Institute.

Forbes Marshall has been rated on pillars like family spirit, culture and employee trust. A comfortable and engaging work environment, open communication, management training programmes and the absence of hierarchy, are some of the key aspects of Forbes Marshall that make it one of the top 25 places to work. A noteworthy best practice, that the study mentions, is the value digression council and its activities.

This year, 26% of the participating companies were from the IT and ITES sector, 21% from engineering/manufacturing sector. The rest of the participants were from sectors like finance, FMCG, Real Estate, Hospitality and others.
