Forbes Marshall wins Social Impact Award
In January 2006, Forbes Marshall won the “Social Impact Award” for 2006 insitituted by the SP Jain Management institute, Bombay. For this award, we competed with NGOs and corporates from all over the country who participated. The paper we presented was entitled”Building Meaningful Partnerships”; in this paper, we detailed some of our programs initiated over the last two years in the areas of women’s empowerment, education and skill development leading to employability in youth. All these programs have been run in partnership with credible NGOs and the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. An eminent jury initially assessed our paper – we were shortlisted as one of the top 5. After an oral presentation in Bombay on 25th, we were judged winners.
About the SPJain and SI Awards
SPJAIN is the one of first business school to imbibe the importance of social responsibility in its students through the programme for Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC). This is a mandatory course, which exposes the students to both theoretical concepts and practical experience in the social sector. SPJAIN is also one of the ten business schools worldwide to be a part of Aspen institute (USA) for spearheading the Social Impact activities as a part of Business Studies. Social Impact Awards recognize the best projects/work implemented by the NGO’s working in diverse fields and the corporate CSR activities, which have substantially impacted the society.
