Forbes Marshall Participates in Smart India Hackathon
Building on the core value of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forbes Marshall participated in the #SmartIndiaHackathon 2019, an event where students across the country attempt to develop a product solution for problem or challenge posted on the platform. An initiative by Ministry of HRD, AICTE, Persistent Systems, i4c and Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, it involved over 1,00,000 students from over 3000 technical institutions across the country attempting to address problem statements and challenges posted by over 200 participating organisations.
Forbes Marshall had posted two problem statements – one related to design of a robust float for steam traps, and another on steam trap monitoring. 36 teams, consisting of over a hundred students, attempted the Forbes Marshall problem statement in the initial round. Team Hackernauts from Shri Sai Ram Engineering College, Chennai were awarded the prize money for presenting the best solution to steam trap monitoring.
Participation in this event meant not only posting a problem and evaluating the solution, but six months of involvement and mentoring of the students by our R&D team – another example of Forbes Marshall’s keen focus on association with academia.
